Class Descriptions

Little Twirlers

18 months - 3 years

​Children learn basic Jazz & Tap form and movements through music, shapes, props, & games. 

 

Dress Code – Jazz/Tap: 

Clothing: Any color body suit, unitard, or crop top along with any color jazz pants or spandex shorts

 

Shoes:

Jazz: Ballet Shoes or foot undies

Tap: Block/Capezio buckle or tie

 

Hair: must be worn up

Ballet

4 years & Up

Students learn proper technique through this classical and theatrical dance form. Proper placement of body, legs, and arms are learned. Children are taught self-discipline as well as technique and coordination.  Advanced levels work to achieve strength and grace through bar and floor work

Dress Code – Ballet: Black body suit along with pink footed tights.  Ballet skirts are optional 

 

Shoes: Split sole or leather (preferably light pink)

Hair: must be worn up in a bun

Tap

4 years & Up

​This dance form involves creating rhythmic sounds with the feet. Students learn timing, patterns, and intricate foot movements

Dress Code – Tap: Any color body suit, unitard, or crop top along with any color jazz pants or spandex shorts.

 

Shoes: Block/Capezio buckle or tie

Hair: Must be worn up 

Jazz

4 years & Up

This class includes strength, flexibility and conditioning technique and progressions including turns, kicks and leaps.

Dress Code – Jazz: Any color body suit, unitard, or crop top along with any color jazz pants or spandex shorts.

 

Shoes: Dance Paws

Hair: Must be worn up 

Contemporary/Lyrical

10 years & Up

​This expressive dance form combines ballet and jazz roots. Dancers are able to show emotion in their dancing. Students learn smooth and dynamic dance movements that connect throughout the dance.

Dress Code – Lyrical: Any color body suit, unitard, or crop top along with any color jazz pants or spandex shorts

 

Shoes: Block/Capezio gore boots or foot undies

Hair: Must be worn up

Hip Hop

4 years & Up

This dance form focuses on the current “street style” of dance. The dancer will learn high energy routines demonstrating various styles and rhythms.

Dress Code – Hip Hop: Any color tank top or t-shirt along with any color shorts or sweat pants.

 

Shoes: Any color sneakers (preferably black-no street shoes)

Hair: Must be worn up

Acrobats

4 years & Up

This class involves basic tumbling skills. The dancer will work to develop muscle coordination and strength through stationary exercises and tumbling floor passes.

Dress Code – Acrobats: Any color body suit, unitard, or crop top along with any color jazz pants or spandex shorts

 

Shoes: Barefoot

Hair: Must be worn up
